Virtual Training – Reporting with GPS App 8/22/2021
Several members have mentioned they were a bit rusty in using the GPS phone procedures to report locations to the command post. In response to that we’ll be having a “virtual” exercise covering this team skill – an item that will be used in the next field exercise/training scenario.
The start of the exercise will be announced on the Alert section here and will take probably less than 2 minutes of your time to complete with your cell phone. We understand that a few members may be in a work situation where phone access may not be possible so the exercise duration will last about 4 hours – plenty of time for those that have to wait for a break at work.
For those needing a refresher (or 1st timers), please LOG IN to the BCO SAR website and visit this page: https://baysosar.org/2021/03/bcso-sar-virtual-training-for-feb-2021/
YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN … REPEAT YOU MUST BE LOGGED IN TO ACCESS!!! This is from the training we did in Feb 2021 and includes how it works and links to the apps for your cell phone. Also suggest reading the information at this link: https://baysosar.org/2020/11/faqs-on-this-cell-phone-gps-training-thingy/ It provides background information on why we use this system and other details.
